Trump Leads Biden by SIX PERCENT in New CNN Poll, Pulls Ahead With Women

Trump vs. Biden: The widening lead comes as Democrats are trying to jail the Republican frontrunner. President Donald Trump is leading President Joe Biden in a new CNN poll by a whopping 6 percent, as Trump inches ahead with women and registers strong support among other Democratic constituency groups as voter concern about the U.S. economy grows. Trump leads 49% to 43% for Biden among registered voters in the poll, which was released April 28. You can read the poll in full here. The poll shows Biden is losing independents 47-36%. The cross tabs show 39% of “people of color” voting for Trump as well as 46% of women compared to 45% of women voting for Biden. Men are more lopsided with 53-41% going for Trump. That’s compared to 47% for Trump and 46% for Biden in August 2023. Nostalgia for Trump's years in office and the stark reality of inflation and Biden's economy are helping push Trump into a large lead that is well outside the margin for error, according to the poll. In fact, 55% of voters polled said that Trump’s four years in office were a success compared to 44% saying it was a failure. In 2021, 55% said Trump’s four years were a failure, and, in 2017, the number was 68%. In 2017, 65% said Obama’s presidency was a success compared to 34% saying it was a failure, and in 2009, 68% said George W. Bush’s presidency was a failure with 31% saying it was a success. When asked which issues are most important to their voting decision, most voters said the economy, “protecting democracy”, immigration, crime, and gun policy. When third-party candidates are included, registered voters chose Trump by 42%, Biden by 33%, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. by 16%, Cornel West by 4%ad Jill Stein by 3%. The poll indicates that voters are hardened in their positions. Only 5% of people polled who aren’t a Biden voter or never voting for Biden said they are a “potential Biden voter” and the same is true of 3% for Trump. The poll was conducted for CNN "via web and telephone on the SSRS Opinion Panel, a nationally representative panel of U.S. adults ages 18 or older recruited using probability-based sampling techniques." The poll was conducted April 18 to 24. The margin of error was +/- 3.4. Biden’s approval rating has plummeted to 60% disapprove in this poll, compared to 41% approving of his job performance in March 2023. In fact, 66% disapprove of how Biden is handling the economy, compared to 44% in March 2021. And 71% disapproved of how Biden was handling the war between Israel and Hamas and inflation and 54% disapproved of how he was handling health care policy and student loan debt. People rated the U.S. economy 70% “net poor” and said that a lower rate of inflation and “a change in political leadership in Washington” would improve their view of the U.S. economy most. More than half, 53% were dissatisfied with their own personal financial situation compared to 47% in 2022. And 58% have an unfavorable opinion of Joe Biden compared to 41% in October 2020.   https://www.wisconsinrightnow.com/trump-vs-biden-poll-2024-latest/?feed_id=14797&_unique_id=662edae3b2f0e
