FREED: Craig Vannieuwenhoven Stabbed Wife in Back, Killing Her | Tony Evers' Killers & Rapists #42

Since 2019, Gov. Tony Evers' Parole Commission has released hundreds of convicted criminals, freeing them early on parole mostly into Wisconsin communities, including more than 300 murderers and attempted murderers, and more than 47 child rapists. Craig Vannieuwenhoven was one of them. His release was discretionary. 42th in the series. Craig Vannieuwenhoven’s wife Louwellen predicted her own death in a restraining order, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette in a 1997 article. The article says she wrote that Vanniewenhoven had threatened to stab her, saying, “there’s going to be another dead woman on Western Avenue.” This prediction came true. He did stab her to death, one of several domestic violence murders on the list of paroles. The couple's 2-year-old daughter was sleeping in another room when Craig stabbed his wife in the back. October is National Domestic Violence Awareness month, but Gov. Tony Evers, his Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes and Attorney General Josh Kaul have remained silent on this and the other paroles.

The Victim: Louwellen Vannieuwenhoven, 38

What the Killer Did:

An old newspaper in the Green Bay Press-Gazette described how Louwellen Vannieuwenhoven died: A stab wound in the back. Her husband Craig told police he stabbed and killed his wife. Louellen was found "lying on her back on a bed. She was motionless and her eyes were closed. What looked like blood was on the bed and the floor." She had a 1 1/2 inch long wound. Craig confessed three times to the killing. He showed little emotion in court.

Gov. Evers Is Taking Action on His Own Legislative Maps MONDAY MORNING

Gov. Tony Evers is taking action on his own legislative maps on Monday morning, Wisconsin Right Now has learned. Sources say the governor has scheduled a 9 a.m. press conference at the State Capitol, and he's billing it as taking action on his own maps proposal (t echnically Senate Bill 488 ), sources told WRN. The Republican-controlled Legislature passed that bill, essentially sending Evers' own maps to his desk, despite the fact that most Democrats voted against it. Evers is then touring the state and holding press conferences in Hudson and Superior, the sources said. Whether that all means Evers will sign or veto the maps is not clear. However, it seems unlikely that he would veto the maps and then hold press conferences about it around the state. More likely, he's going to hold press conferences touting the maps as "fair," even though they are anything but - they rig it so that Democrats seize control of the Legislature under multiple credible scenario...

Sen. John Jagler Frustrated With NO Officers in Milwaukee Public Schools

State Sen. John Jagler is frustrated Milwaukee Public Schools seems to be ignoring the state law that requires police officers in the city’s schools. But, he doesn’t expect any changes either. Jagler, R-Watertown, last week wrote a letter to the MPS board, asking when the city’s schools plan to follow the law and return school resource officers to their buildings. Republican lawmakers included the school resource officer in 2023’s shared revenue deal. It required MPS to add 25 officers by Jan. 1. That didn’t happen. “Now, I know it didn't get done fast enough last year. And to be honest, I kind of, to be fair, just kind of assumed it would be done in August of this year,” Jagler said on News Talk 1130 WISN on Tuesday.
